Software Support: Starting with GlobalProtect™
app 6.0
OS Support: Windows 10
To ensure that Microsoft delivery optimization and peer caching
can identify that a device is connected to a VPN, the GlobalProtect
virtual adapter name on Windows endpoints has been changed to include
the keyword secure. This enables delivery
optimization and peer caching to work properly for large number
of Windows updates, upgrades, and application downloads and ensures
that this traffic is not consuming large amounts of bandwidth and
slowing down the updates when the end user is connected to the VPN.
On Windows endpoints, if you use PANGP Virtual Ethernet Adapter to
identify the GlobalProtect adapter name in your script, update the
GlobalProtect virtual adapter name to PANGP Virtual Ethernet Adapter
Secure through System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
