When your users download files to their local machines during isolated browsing, they can
be exposed to zero-day threats if the downloaded files contain malicious content. Even
though the downloaded files can be scanned for vulnerabilities using file scanning or
antivirus solutions, unknown threats might still escape detection. You can integrate Remote Browser Isolation (RBI) with a third-party content and disarm (CDR) provider to analyze
files for threats and sanitize them for consumption by your users.
When a user attempts to download a file during isolated browsing, the file will be
analyzed by the CDR provider. If the file contains active malicious content such as
malware, macros, or embedded fonts, the CDR provider will disarm the file by removing
the malicious content, and reconstruct the file in its original format before delivering
the file to the user. The user can then safely view and download the file and be
protected against malware and potential zero-day threats.
During a file download, RBI will notify the user of the following
events:
- When RBI sends the file to the CDR service for analysis
- When RBI is waiting for a response from the CDR service
- When RBI receives a successful response from the CDR
service
- When RBI encounters any errors during the process
