Known Issues

See the list of the known issues in GlobalProtect app 6.1.
The following table lists the known issues in GlobalProtect app 6.1 for Windows, Windows UWP, Linux, iOS, Android, and macOS.
Issue
Description
GPC-24937
Android mobile device users of the GlobalProtect VPN client are unable to complete SAML authentication, as they are redirected to a blank page after attempting to connect. This issue occurs regardless of whether the embedded or default browser is used for SAML authentication.
GPC-24228
Android devices running the GlobalProtect agent are unable to connect to gateways, displaying a "Could not verify the server certificate of the gateway" error. This occurs because a common code change caused the GlobalProtect agent to use the OpenSSL framework for gateway server certificate handshakes, which is unable to access certificates stored in the Android key-store.
GPC-24536
On Android endpoints, when the GlobalProtect app is installed with Always-On mode, the OS often terminates the app process to reclaim system resources when the network is lost. This action prevents the app from automatically reconnecting when network connectivity is restored.
Workaround: user must manually connect the GlobalProtect app.
GPC-24117
Chromebooks intermittently fail to authenticate to the Prisma Access Portal when using SAML authentication. This occurrs because the ACS URL would briefly open in the default browser and then immediately disappear, leading to an "authentication failed" message and an exception in the GlobalProtect logs.
GPC-23965
Android devices running the GlobalProtect client in FIPS mode are unable to verify client certificates using OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol), leading to authentication failures.
GPC-19499
On Linux endpoints, the Firefox browser stops working when you try to connect the GlobalProtect app with the SAML default browser.
GPC-17099
When the GlobalProtect app for Windows is upgraded to version 6.1.1, devices with Driver Verifier enabled and configured to monitor the PAN virtual adapter driver (pangpd.sys) display the DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION Blue Screen error.
GPC-15969
On Windows endpoints, the GlobalProtect app sometimes fails to send the Diagnostic report when the end user uses the option to Report an Issue. The Troubleshooting logs are sent successfully.
GPC-16570
When using the embedded browser for SAML authentication with the GlobalProtect app for Linux while installed on operating systems using OpenSSL 3 as the system version and using a portal or gateway running PAN-OS 10.2 or earlier versions, authentication does not work as expected.
Workaround: Use the default system browser for SAML authentication.
