These are the new features introduced in December 2023 for AIOps for NGFW Free, and for AIOps for NGFW Premium (use Strata Cloud Manager app). AIOps for NGFW Premium updates include new features to support Cloud Management for NGFWs.

Software NGFW Credits License Activation

December 20, 2023
Now you can activate a Software NGFW Credits License using Strata Cloud Manager (AIOps for NGFW Premium) for Panorama Managed VM-Series.
After you receive an email from Palo Alto Networks identifying the new product license you're activating, including all your add-ons and capacities, use the activation link to begin the activation process. You can activate and manage all your available licenses, device associations, tenants, and identity and access from Common Services. As existing app instances transition to tenants and tenant service groups you can also use Common Services to manage those as well. After activation or transition, you can find Common Services in the tenant view of the hub or in a variety of ways.

PAN-OS Root and Default Certificate Expiration Alert

December 15, 2023
Introducing the PAN-OS Root and Default Certificate Expiration alert that detects when the PAN-OS root certificate, default certificate, or both expire on devices. When these certificates expire, the firewall or Panorama loses connectivity to Palo Alto Networks’ cloud services. Consequently, this might interrupt network traffic, block user resource access, and disrupt business operations. This alert assists you in identifying the PAN-OS devices with these expired certificates and provides information about the remediation options.
Supported on AIOps for NGFW Free and Strata Cloud Manager with AIOps for NGFW Premium license.
Health alerts actively monitor the health and performance of your platform in real-time. This approach helps in identifying issues, predicting potential problems, and implementing remediation actions to ensure your devices function optimally. Here are some key aspects:
  • Monitoring Metrics: Continuously monitor various metrics from the NGFWs, including CPU utilization, memory usage, disk space, network throughput, and other relevant performance indicators.
  • Anomaly Detection: Generate alerts that dynamically adjust based on the metric's historical value and your usage trends.
  • Predictive Analysis: Predict when certain thresholds exceed or when specific events occur by analyzing historical data and patterns. This helps forecast potential issues before they escalate.

AIOps for NGFW: Support for Korea Region

December 4, 2023
AIOps for NGFW is now supported in the Korea region.
You can now host your AIOps for NGFW instance in this newly available region. In this way, your telemetry and firewall log data is processed by a local AIOps for NGFW instance without the data ever leaving your geographic region. To host AIOps for NGFW in new regions for new customers, select the desired region during the Free or Premium activation process. If you are an existing customer with an AIOps for NGFW instance, it will continue to operate from its original location.
