PAN-OS Software Updates
PAN-OS is the software that runs all Palo Alto Networks
next-generation firewalls. Here’s how to check for new releases
and get started with an upgrade to the latest software version.
PAN-OS is the software that runs all Palo
Alto Networks next-generation firewalls. The PAN-OS software version
that a firewall is running is displayed on the firewall Dashboard.
You
can check for new PAN-OS releases directly in the firewall, or on
the Palo Alto Networks support portal.
To upgrade the firewall to the latest version of PAN-OS:
- Review the latest PAN-OS Release Notes to see what’s new. Also take a look at Upgrade/Downgrade Considerations to make sure you understand all potential changes the PAN-OS release might introduce.
- Check for new PAN-OS releases:
- On the support portal—Go to support.paloaltonetworks.com and, on the left menu bar, select UpdatesSoftware Updates. Download and save the release you want to use to upgrade the firewall.
- On the firewall—Select DeviceSoftware and Check Now for the firewall to check with the Palo Alto Networks Update Server for new PAN-OS release versions.
