Bandwidth Subscription Monitoring and Reporting

Prisma SD-WAN offers comprehensive monitoring of subscription utilization, providing
detailed insights into both individual site and tenant usage on a monthly basis. This
visibility enables customers to effectively manage and plan their subscriptions.
Monitoring and reporting is based on the following principles:
- All sites report ingress and egress bytes passing through the ION appliance(s) on all WAN circuits.
- Per-site utilization values are calculated over five-minute intervals to eliminate any throughput spikes due to instantaneous traffic bursts.
- The monthly utilization per site is the maximum utilization value for that site during that period.
- The monthly utilization per tenant is the sum of the monthly site utilization values.
The bandwidth utilization is monitored by the system for visibility and reporting
purposes. Although Palo Alto Networks does not currently enforce the subscription limit,
it reserves the right to add license Enforcement in the future for new bandwidth
subscription purchases and license renewals. If the monthly utilization exceeds the
amount of bandwidth licensed, Palo Alto Networks reserves the option to charge for the
additional bandwidth on a “true forward” prospective basis.
License Term Expiration
Our systems will not halt the flow of traffic upon the expiration of a
branch or DC subscription. However, operating with an expired subscription would be
considered non-compliant.
