Prisma SD-WAN Integration with LiveAction Prerequisites

Learn about the prerequisites before integrating Prisma SD-WAN with LiveAction.
The IPFIX feature in Prisma SD-WAN monitors traffic across the network by collecting traffic records at different points in the network. The Prisma SD-WAN ION device exports these flow records to third-party collector applications. Prisma SD-WAN’s IPFIX implementation is based on the guidelines outlined in RFC 7011 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7011). IPFIX records can be used for various purposes such as network management and planning, optimized troubleshooting, enterprise accounting, studying trends in network and application performance metrics, data mining, network analytics, understanding network anomalies, and protecting the network from security vulnerabilities.
LiveAction’s LiveNX is a network monitoring software platform that provides comprehensive visibility that spans the entire network. Prisma SD-WAN integration with LiveNX will allow enterprises to take advantage of the application performance analytics that Prisma SD-WAN ION devices collect and export.
The following prerequisites are essential to enable Prisma SD-WAN integration with LiveAction:
  • An active Prisma SD-WAN subscription.
  • A Prisma SD-WAN ION device with an SNMP agent running. The ION device supports both SNMP v2 and SNMP v3.
  • Prisma SD-WAN branch ION device, with version 5.5.1 or later, that is configured to export IPFIX records to LiveAction LiveNX.
  • An active LiveAction LiveNX subscription.
  • The deployment specifications for LiveNX are documented in Specifications for LiveNX and LiveNX Quick Start Guide.
